Consider these possibilities for balancing your digestive health…

High fiber: Consider using flax as a fiber source since it is both soluble and insoluble. Only use psyllium when cleansing as it can be harsh, abrasive and absorb lots of water potentially disturbing the hydration balance in your gut. You must drink extra water with any fiber and throughout the day. Formula recipe guidelines may include mixing a teaspoon of your choice of fiber and gradually increasing to a tablespoon with 8 oz of water. Take formula a ½ hour before or 2 hours after meals in the morning and evening.

Oils: Essential fatty acid (EFA) is found in oil rich food from nuts, seeds & greens to fish. For oil supplementation consider flax, hemp, borage, evening primrose, wheat germ or cod liver oils. These oils should be kept in dark containers and refrigerated.

Probiotics: These friendly floras aid in providing an eco system rich with beneficial bacteria that you may find necessary to replenish after antibiotic use, high stress or cleansing. Bacterial balance is part of your immune system & some vitamin manufacturing.

Enzymes: Digestive enzymes derived from living foods aid in digesting cooked food. Some enzyme supplements include hydrochloric acid (HCL) which is needed for digestion.

Rejuvelac: This fermented drink may be made from soaking wheat berries, rye berries, millet or barley for 12 hours. When these or other soaked grains are strained, the liquid is high in friendly bacteria and when consumed may populate the intestines aiding in balance.

Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Gel: Heals tissues throughout the entire digestive tract or area of focus. Mix with liquid and note this may have a mild laxative effect so consume gradually.

Dietary Chlorophyll: This supplement is known to nourish and oxygenate the entire system. It aids in detoxifying the intestines and may assists in ileo-cecal valve function.

Potassium: Helps maintain electrolyte balance and aids with water absorption in the body.

Bentonite Clay water: Mix one tablespoon in 2 cups of water in the morning and at night with your fiber drink. This is a highly absorbent medium with a negative electrical charge that will bond with most positive electrically charged toxins in the intestine. In combination with fiber and extra water this may help enable deep detoxification.

Health Drink: Used for oxygenation and healing of the digestive tract. Mix one oz of whole leaf aloe vera juice with one teaspoon of dietary chlorophyll, or whole food based vitamin and mineral supplement in juice, tea or water every morning.

Fresh Vegetable Juice: Live enzymes enhance nourishment without taxing the digestive tract. When consuming for therapeutic value it is best to drink 2 pints of the freshest juice.

Water: Consume purified water daily as your primary beverage. Note your body weight and divide by 2 to determine how many ounces are optimal for you to consume daily.

Further digestive support via external stimulation

Castor Oil Packs: Soothe abdominal tightness, cramping or pain and loosen impactions while lubricating with heat. Apply cold pressed oil direct on skin or with wool flannel then put cloth in-between heating pad.

Colon Massage: Increases peristalsis and may stimulate release. After a warm herbed tea or a glass of lemon water, massage from right to left, up, across and lightly down.

Slant Board: Position yourself to elevate your colon and get gravity working the other direction. Maybe try something between your mattress and box spring while you sleep.

Skin Brushing: Aids in lymphatic movement, stimulates blood flow and helps detoxify the skin. Brush before showering vigorously toward the heart in all regions.

Rebounding: Jump on a mini trampoline for a minimum of 2 minutes per day to move the lymph. This assists the detoxification process and also may stimulate your bowel.

Hydrotherapy Bath: To detoxify, take a salt (Epsom, Dead Sea or Himalayan crystals) or a powdered ginger bath the evening following a colonic for up to 20 minutes.

Hot/Cold Therapy: To increase circulation to blocked areas of the body direct water pressure to that place or aim at the chest. In the shower, begin with a 40-60 second interval of as hot of water as tolerated followed by 15-30 seconds of very cold water. Perform up to 7 sets of therapy ending with cold in the morning and hot in the evening.

A Typical Day Observing Cleansing Considerations
and Core Principles of Health

7:00 am – Arise and drink 16 oz of water
Exercise and perform rebounding (4 minutes) and exercise further for 10 mins. 7:30 am – Shower and perform Hot/Cold Therapy in shower
8:00 am – Drink fresh fruit or vegetable juice or green smoothie. Add flax oil or UDO’s Oils (or another Omega 3-6-9 blend). Choose produce that is local or in season
8:30 am – Prepare for the rest of your day!
You will want to bring an adequate amount of purified water with you and perhaps a packed lunch and/or snacks. Appropriate snacks include trail mixes of sprouted grains and nuts, whole pieces of fruits and dried fruits. Attempt to eat small simple meals throughout the day 10:00 am – 12 noon – Consume water and snacks. Drink water 15 mins. prior to snack
Noon – 1:30 – Consume lunch without water. (if thirsty sip water before meal)
Consume a properly combined lunch. Consider choosing nuts and seeds as a protein source over meat, and combine them with a salad rich in greens with a light vinaigrette dressing made of cold-pressed virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar if possible (you may choose to use oil/vinegar at restaurants). Keep meal simple with no extra dairy or complex carbohydrates from breads etc. By 3:30 – 5:00 -- Consume more water and snack if desired. Continue to do so until just before dinner. Exercise for up to a ½ hour as desired.
6:00 – 7:00 – Consume dinner during this time consisting of protein and vegetables. If cooking use coconut oils. Avoid pastas, breads and complex grain starches, and avoid red meats. Consume only organic/free range meats and vegetables. Lightly season foods.
9:00 – Begin preparing for bed and perform hot/cold therapy in shower ending in hot. You may take a hydrotherapy bath prior and immerse the thyroid to release toxins.
10:00 – Go to bed by 10:00 if not before to rest the immune system properly. Try to obtain a minimum of 8 hours sleep.

When hungry consider eating:

  1. Fresh organic seasonal fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds.
  2. Fresh organic raw vegetable salad with flax oil and vinegar, fresh squeezed lemon, or avocado dressing. - No iceberg lettuce as is contains little to no nutrition or fiber and is heavily sprayed.
  3. Fresh lightly steamed organic vegetables - corn either raw and/or chewed exceptionally thoroughly.
  4. Homemade vegetable soups - use plenty of organic: carrots, celery and tops, and new potatoes, etc.
  5. Miso broth (Boil water and turn off then add miso at a low temperature keeping enzymes alive)
  6. Fresh organic raw vegetable juices (try carrot, beet, celery, spinach and a pinch of ginger to heat up)
  7. Herbal teas like chamomile, slippery elm, peppermint, pau de archo, nettles and red raspberry.
  8. Seasonings to add after cooking - Braggs, sea salt, Young Living Essential oils, Vega-sal, dill, basil, oregano, super tonic, marjoram, ginger, garlic, peppers and etc.
  9. Organic yams and new potatoes (small red or white, never Russett or Idaho to create diversity)
  10. Organic steel cut oats, brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth.

Green smoothie – Mix your favorite fruits and a couple of handfuls of greens with juice or water in your high speed blender till smooth. Enjoy, this gives you easy to absorb trace minerals and vitamins with live enzymes to activate digestion enhancing overall health.

Please avoid all red meats, bread, pasta, un-soaked nuts, cheese, dairy, caffeine, alcohol, vegetable and refined sugar in any form. These foods are hard to digest and may interfere with your cleansing process. Always chew your food thoroughly! Remember at least 8 glasses of purified water daily, always, for as long as you intend to live in vibrant health. Or try taking your body weight, divide by two and add ounces to the number
